Djippov Named Men’s Water Polo Coach

Westcliff University announced this week that Preslav Djippov will become the new head coach of the Men’s Water Polo team, which is scheduled to begin play next year.

Djippov was the club men’s water polo head coach at USC before taking over the women’s water polo program at Columbia University, where his team won the New York State Division Championship in 2017.

At the same time, Djippov was coaching the junior and senior water polo teams at Greenwich Aquatics Club in Greenwich, CT. 

After relocating to the west coast, Djippov accepted coaching positions with the Del Mar Water Polo club in San Diego, as well as Canyon Crest Academy high school. 

Before coming to the states in 2016, Djippov was the assistant coach of Water Polo Club Cherno More-1948 in Varna, Bulgaria.

As a player, Djippov was a member of the Bulgarian Senior and Junior National water polo teams and won the Bulgarian National Championship in 2009 and 2010. 

Djippov graduated from the university of Economics in Varna, Bulgaria with a Master’s in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Statistics and Econometrics.
